Sonke went with his science class to the Portland Science Center to see the exhibition called Body Worlds. The process of taking donated bodies and adding plastic to showcase the internal organs was invented by a German company. As for me, I worked on a book, answered email, caught up with the sad news from Paris, climbed Black Mountain, picked up pellets with William, and made lasagna. On Sunday evening, all of the sports teams of Mountain Valley High School gathered for a dinner and awards ceremony. Then, the individual teams moved into smaller rooms to give out awards. Both boys won Varsity Letter Awards and Sonke received a regional award. We gave both coaches a framed photograph of the team. The boys invited 8 of their friends over on Saturday night for a table tennis tournament. WE went through a lot of pizza and assorted junk food to declare Lukasz (Warsaw, Poland) the winner. For many years the boys' soccer team has finished the season with a playful game of World Cup (corner kicks with pairs working as teams). The boys went to a local event center where teenagers gathered for a Halloween party. Friends of theirs have a rock group and they played. Others dressed up in an assortment of costumes. Sonke went as "The Joker" while William arrived as a baseball player.
