Our neighbors, Barbara and John Bartash (former Aunt & Uncle hosts in 1998 and 2004) are babysitting baby goats for their son Andrew. Last night, Connie brought the boys up to meet the little furballs. :-)
Lukasz' host mom, Kelly, took the boys up to a lake near Rangeley for a goodbye trip that included bowling and the jump house. Here are photos from Kelly up at the lake. As I wrote to our Facebook friends: The Falcons visited their River Valley rivals in Dixfield for their next-to-the-last game of the year. William and Sönke both scored and both got hits as the Falcon team outlasted the Cougars for the win. It's funny to think they'd never seen a game before. Tomorrow, their athletic careers with the Falcons will end, and they'll begin packing their bags for home. Last week, Connie's play dominated her days and evenings. But on Saturday, she shot down to the baseball field to try and catch a few minutes of the game before her Saturday performance. Here's a post-game picture of Connie and her boys. It's one of my favorites.
I asked William if this were the first time that he and his twin brother Fred were separated at their birthdays: yes. It's also the first time that Mom & Dad, Marianne and Kenneth, have been away from their boys on their birthdays. Hang on, we say. They'll be home soon! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, WILLIAM! We spent Monday afternoon touring Las Vegas after a 4.5 hour drive up from Newport Beach. The boys took a few photos during the walk. After our thorough and interesting tour of LA, Beverly Hills, Hollywood, and various beach communities, we enjoyed a tasty BBQ at Anne & Rob's. Tomorrow, we're off to Las Vegas for our final evening. There's a roller coaster at New York New York that Anne & Rob recommend. We'll also seek out a Five Guys Burgers & Fries for our last dinner on the trip. That's it from Southern California. :-) My brother Rob took us on a five-hour tour of Los Angeles, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, and the beach communities south of Hollywood all the way down to Newport Beach. The pictures tell most of the story, but the boys will have their own. As you'll see, we had a great time. |
